Computers are not my forte. There is commands you can use in the commandline to change the resolution but that may be a pain to use so I suggest getting a quake client such as ezquake, nquake, dark places, or Proquake. Can you help me with that? I tried KMQuake2, dind't work.

I'm trying plating on steam, with the same issue. GOG version never be updated, just 2 separate dll fix - still wrong build that work only from lamo-created broken old GOG launcher. If you still have problem and do not buy yet Steam version - google it mdf\mds quake image files. Set proper settings, set "Keep aspect ratio" in video driver. 1920x1080 is a less than old normal full-screen 1600x1200. There is no problems with Quake 2, its a problems with current widescreen monitors. And some local* real old-fags do not correct him. Dont forget to visit support page for 2 archives with fixed dll for expansion (GOG missed them).Īfter first launch, make sure you set up a proper settings.

Until that you must redownload and reinstall offline version of Quake 2 GOG and laucnh it from GOG launcher. Better way - by both Steam and GOG versions.

QWEEDDYZ: Topic starter, do not listen them all. Coop is worse than single player because it was added as an afterthought in a patch. The original game code (not the engine) is crap and it runs as native code (contrary to the VM approach of Quake 2 that is safer). YQ2 is the most stable of them because so many invalid reads are fixed. The most obvious way to find problems in Quake 2 is playing coop. If anything gameplay wise is changed, it is a bug that should be reported. I prefer Yamagi Quake II and Quakespasm because they are vanilla with many bugfixes. And maybe a name is a bit misleading but it does changes absolutely nothing gameplay wise, only fixes.

Unfortunately I'm a purist and in case of Quake 1 the best option was Fitzquake Mark V, and in this particular case of Quake 2 it was Knightmare's Unofficial Patch 3.24. I don't usually suggest some out of the blue, prefer to do a little research and find the best solution for my taste. Cadaver747: It least it was for me and tried Yamagi along with two other ports (forgot the name Quake2Max or something and a recent one with lighting effects).
